About Us

About Us

Welcome to the “About the Doc” page. This short biography is intended to help prospective patients get a feel for myself and the values our office holds important. Choosing a dentist is a difficult and personal decision. I want prospective patients to feel comfortable about coming to my office before ever stepping through our door.

I grew up in Pittsburgh and attended the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation, I traveled all the way to the West Coast to receive my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Southern California. I began my dental career with four more years of intensive training in the US Army, and after spending some time in the dry heat of Arizona, my beautiful wife Andrea and I decided to move back to Pittsburgh.  Several years later, and with  my own office, we are enjoying the seasons along with our two daughters Nicole and Gabriela.

Other than my professional career in dentistry, I have been a computer nerd since early childhood.  It gives me great pleasure to combine two of my biggest passions in life: dentistry and computers.  Computers are improving our society at an incredible pace, and dentistry is no exception.  The mature applications of computers in dentistry are making the patient experience easier and more comfortable, and are improving the quality of care in ways that we could only dream about a few years earlier.

Throughout my career, I’ve always placed a high priority on staying up to date with the latest research, education, and techniques so that I can provide the highest standard of care for my patients. I average 100 hours of Continuing Education every year, which is about four times the amount required by the Pennsylvania Dental Licensing Board. This level of education has many benefits for prospective patients. You will probably notice that my office offers comprehensive care, including root canals, surgery, and implants. My experience has taught me that, when possible, patients much prefer to be treated by a doctor with whom they’ve already established a trusted relationship. Having the experience and education to offer these services allows patients the comfort and convenience of having all their treatment completed under one roof.

In closing, I’d like to offer our patients a promise: We will do everything possible to make your visit to the dentist as enjoyable as possible. We understand that it’s probably not too high on your list of “favorite things to do”, but we’ll do our best to provide quality treatment in a comfortable environment. You will be seen in a timely manner; we respect your time and ask that you respect ours. You will always see the same faces at our office and there is no “revolving dentist door”; I am the owner and operator and will never delegate your treatment to a lesser associate or partner doctor. We only schedule one patient at a time (but make exceptions for emergencies) so that we can concentrate on you and doing the best quality of work possible by not having to run back and forth between three or more patients. Communication between patient and dentist is critical to a successful relationship. I want to make sure my patients are educated about all procedures, all treatment options are explained, and all their questions have been answered. We all look forward to meeting you!
